Core Architecture: Your Files Never Leave Your Device
ImageNode operates entirely inside your web browser. All image transformations (compression, conversion, resizing, cropping, watermarking, and workflow orchestrations) are executed locally via HTML5 Canvas and WebAssembly APIs. We do not operate processing servers, backend storage, or databases for your media assets.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Because ImageNode operates on a serverless, client-side execution model:
- Your Images: Files dropped or selected into any tool are parsed exclusively within volatile device memory. They are never uploaded, buffered, or archived on any remote server.
- File Metadata & EXIF: EXIF records, GPS coordinates, and camera profiles processed through our tools remain strictly local. When using our metadata stripper, EXIF headers are purged client-side before any export.
2. Telemetry and Usage Analytics
To ensure application reliability and identify browser runtime errors, we collect minimal, non-identifying telemetry:
- Aggregated Analytics (Google Analytics 4): Anonymous interaction counts (such as tool visit events, output format choices, and processing success statuses). We never record filenames, visual contents, or personally identifiable information (PII).
- Edge Infrastructure Logs: Content Delivery Networks (e.g., Cloudflare, Vercel) log standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, browser user-agent, operating system) solely for DDoS protection, traffic routing, and edge-caching performance.
3. Local Storage and Client Cache
ImageNode utilizes modern browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage solely to:
- Persist workflow builder configurations and canvas state between browser refreshes.
- Cache UI theme preferences and feature flags locally on your machine.
This data remains entirely on your machine and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.
4. Third-Party Infrastructure
We partner with industry-standard infrastructure providers to serve our static bundles:
- Hosting & CDN: Vercel / Cloudflare (delivering static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WebAssembly assets).
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (configured with IP anonymization enabled).
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because we do not ingest your files on remote servers, there is no remote data retention lifecycle. Once you close or reload the browser tab, all temporary object URLs (blob: references) are automatically garbage-collected and purged from system memory.
